An unprecedented event in the history of Valka and Valga will begin on 12th of November this year – a 99 km run to honor the creation of the Latvian Provisional National Council in year 1917 in Valka.
The aim of the competition is to develop the long-distance running tradition in Valka Municipality and Valga County, as well as invite every Latvian citizen to participate in honor of the Latvian centenary.
Short distances will be also available for the runners, as well as 990 m distance for everyone, who wants to participate in this historic event.
To participate in the 99 km and 49.5 km distances, the participant must be at least 18 years old on the day of competition.
24.75 km distance will be available for youngster, who are at least 16 years old on the day of competition.
9.9 km distance will be available for children, who are at least 12 years old and have a parents-written permission to participate.
The 990 m distance is without age limitations and will have no participation fee, and there will be no time control in this run. The Nordic walkers are especially invited to this distance.
The start position will be at the Valga Town hall and finish at the Valka Culture house.
The runners in the 99 km distance will have to run 4 laps in a labeled and safe 24.75 km lap.

The competition is organized and managed by Valka Municipality Council in cooperation with Valga Town Government and association “Atbalsts Valkai” (“Support for Valka”).
