The opening round of cross-country skiing will take place on 5th of March in Valka, which is already after less than a month, but if we are unlucky and the winter conditions are not good enough – a running competition will be held at the Valka open-air stage.
The cross-country skiing is planned to be held in Valka parish’s “Sedaskalni”. Registration will be from 9:30 – 10:45.
Distances – 15 km (the big tetrathlon), 8 km (the small tetrathlon), 4 km (health class).
In case we have lack of snow, the running competition at the Valka open-air stage will be held in following distances:
8 km (the big tetrathlon), 4 km (the small tetrathlon), 2 km (health class).
Children, who are at least 12 years old, can participate in this competition.
The competition regulations have been changed this year, adding another age group for women: S-60, where all women who were born in year 1956 or sooner can participate. While in men’s group changes will affect seniors, this year there will be no separate V-70 group, but instead they will be able to participate in V-65+ group.
In this season the 3 best round results will be taken into consideration for competition’s final standings.
Teams are invited to participate! The teams can consist of different interest groups, companies, families, relatives, age groups (regardless - female or male). In each round in team competition only the best 3 team member’s rating point sum will be valued (may be also from health class). Every participant during the application for a round, declares the membership for a specific team.
During the season, participants may represent only one team.

The third round is MTB or mountain biking – 13th of August at the resting place “Zāģezers”.
The fourth round – running competition “Around Zāģezers” on 15th of October at the resting place “Zāģezers”.
