Special exceptions for Valka and Valga residents remain in place but please fill in the Covidpass.lv questionnaire again

From February 11th to 25th only essential travel to Latvia permitted.

The urgent and essential reasons are defined as:

  • work;
  • training, studies;
  • family reunion;
  • in order to receive medical services;
  • transit;
  • accompanying a minor;
  • return to one’s permanent place of residence;
  • attending a funeral.

The Covidpass.lv website has been updated with the important reasons for entry, so we invite residents to fill in the questionnaire again.

In addition to showing that they have submitted their information at covidpass.lv, documents proving the purpose of entry will have to be presented to the State Border Guard or the State Police.

We remind you that all previously reported exceptions remain in place for residents who are declared in Valka municipality and Valga parish (Republic of Estonia) and who cross the land border of the Republic of Latvia and the Republic of Estonia on a daily basis, provided that they do not leave the administrative territories of Valka and Valga local governments:

  • 10 days self-isolation is not applied;
  • you do not need to present the Covid-19 test when entering Latvia.
