Grammy winner Moya Brennan will perform in Valka

On 4th March, 2016 at 19:00 in Valka Culture house the Celtic Diva, Grammy winner Moya Brennan and the Irish harp virtuoso Cormac De Barra will perform.

 

Both musicians - Moya Brennan and Cormac De Bara are coming from large Irish musical families and their appreciation for each other evolved into a vivid musical duet. Their album “Voices & Harps” is the culmination of their friendship and creative synergy in the previous decade. They combine simplicity, depth and beauty in their special skills, which makes them so unique in their own field.

 

Grammy winner, Moya Brennan, is a singer from the legendary band “Clannad” with a successfully established solo career. She has performed on almost all world's major stages possible and has collaborated with many world famous artists, including The Chieftains, Paul Brady and Bono.

 

Moya has won several important awards - Ivor Novello and BAFTA awards, as well as the prestigious Grammy Award in 1999. Her sister is the world-famous singer, a four-time Grammy Award winner Enya Brennan.

 

Cormac De Barra is internationally recognized as a versatile harp virtuoso. He constantly tries to surpass the boundaries of the Irish harp in his works together with other artists, including Heizela O'Connor, Julie Fini and the already mentioned group “Clannad”. Cormac is also concerting and recording works with his brothers Imon and Fjonanu in their family group “Barco”. In addition to his intensive performance schedule, he also regularly runs musical workshops and master classes worldwide. 

 

Tickets are available from 5th January at Biļešu paradīze and at Valka Culture house cashbox. Ticket prices are from 12 to 30 euros.
