The 5th International “Bordertown Beat” contest will take place on April

The organizers of the 5th International “Bordertown beat” contest are informing that the date of the contest for new pop singers and dance group performers is changed from 27th and 28th of February to 16th and 17th of April. Since the flu epidemic is announced currently in both Latvia and Estonia, it was decided to postpone the contest.

 

The contest will be held in Valka and Valga, and the competition is organized by the Valka Municipality Council, Valga Town Government, Valka Culture house, Valga Cultural Centre, a public benefit organizations - association “Atbalsts Valkai” and studio “Joy”.

 

The main objective of the contest is to promote and strengthen intergovernmental relations among pop music and in dance field.

There are only 6 towns in the world separated by state borders. The Latvian Valka and the Estonian Valga are twin towns and they are using a slogan "One Town, Two Countries". For the very reason a title for the competition is “Bordertown Beat”.  

Contestants participation age - from 13 to 25 (included) years. All participants and their teachers will receive prizes. The total prize fund - 2000 euros. 1st, 2nd, 3rd place in each category will get prize money, diplomas, soloists will get the opportunity to record songs in a sound studio, dance groups - to film a professional dance video.

Since the dates of the contest were changed, the application time is also extended. Participants are invited to submit their completed applications, professional resumes and CVs till 1st of April, 2016, to this e-mail address liga[punkts]snuka[uz]valka[punkts]lv.

The results will be announced till 4th of April.
