The applying for the 14th Great Valka – Valga charity border-market has started

Market organizers inform that in this week has started the applying for the 14th Great Valka – Valga charity border-market. The trading will take place in 7th and 8th of May in Valka and Valga at the Rīga Street’s border post.

 

Tourist information office manager Madars Lāns recommends all traders to timely apply for a place on the market: “This year an electronic registration with a particular trading place reservation and prepayment was created. Before registration please read the market regulations and in case of confusion, contact the tourist information office”. With border-market regulations you can acquaint in Valka District website www.valka.lv.

 

If you make a prepayment for trading industrial, household and consumer food products, as well as for farmers and individual producers of their own production of food products and non-alcoholic soft drinks, ice cream or sugar watts, the target donation for one day will be 15 euros for one place. For two days – 20 euros.

 

Same target donation will also be for trading plants, vegetables, cut flowers, gardening-related products, animal related equipment and feed sales, as well as for marketing vehicles and related equipment, and for advertising beauty care and treatment products. On the day of the event the fee for one place and one day will be 25 euros, but for two days – 30 euro.

 

But for trading of handloom and handicraft products, press and printed matter the prepayment for one place will be 10 euros a day and 15 euros for two days. The same price will be for tourist information/service providers and for attraction placements of various types. Payment on the day of event – 20 euros for a place for one day and 25 euros for one place for two days.

 

 A party advertising billboard, marquee or other type of visual advertising will cost 30 euros a day. Trading place for big beer breweries will cost 50 euros a day, for small vine and beer producers, as well as for home compounders – 20 euros a day.

 

One trading place will be 3x3 meters, as in previous year. Low-income persons with a small quantity of individual articles will have a chance to get a 50% discount from trading place fee.

 

This year, all collected funds from trading place’s fee is planned to use for an approved purpose – to manufacture and install a Valka/Valga sculpture on the Latvian - Estonian border between Rīga and Raiņa streets.

 

But the funds collected in the previous border-market will be directed to install a unique swing, which is expected to be installed in the reconstructed Valga – Valka twin town center area. Currently an international architectural competition task “Concept for Central Area and Pedestrian Street in Valga – Valka Twin-Town Centre” is taking place. The results of the competition task will be released till 10th of July, 2016. The reconstruction of Centre is planned to be finished till the end of year 2017.
