New groups are added to rock festival’s “Borderrock” program

The summer seasons first rock festival “Borderrock” organizers inform us, that in addition to the advertised groups in the Festival at Valka open-air stage, there also will perform groups like “Odd Hugo”, “Vennaskond”, “Kolmteist” and “Defeatem” from Estonia, as well as “Karmafree”, “Laika suns”, Jānis Bukums, “Green Novice”, “The Factor”, “Exit”, “Gelousy”, “Rebel Riot”, “Monro”, “Heaven Grey” from Latvia, and “Mountainside” from Lithuania.

“Odd Hugo” is from Tartu, and at first moment their music might sound like Andrew Bird, Jack White and Beirut mixed together. The group was founded in year 2012, and their debut album was released in year 2013, they have performed in Germany, Hungary, Finland, Sweden and in the festival “Positivus”. The album was also nominated for best debut album award at the Estonian Annual Music Awards. Nils Bernstein from Matador Records said that “of all the groups I saw in the Tallinn Music Week, “Odd Hugo” has the greatest potential in getting popular outside Estonia. They are incredibly talented, great performers and songwriters.”

“Vennaskond” does not require any particular comments in Latvian punk music circles. Established as early as in year 1984, faced with the KGB persecution, have survived and are regarded as the most influential Estonian punk rock group.

As reported previously, in the festival will play the Latvian music classics “Jumprava”, one of this year’s most demanded group in Latvian “The Sound Poets”, Latvian ska legends “All Day Long”, punk legends “PND” and “Inokentijs Mārpls”. The festival will also have an electronic music tent, where Toms Grēviņš will play mad techno music. The fiery Hoola hoop dancer “Voodoo Flame” will complement the performances in the festival. In the electronic tent we will also hear Vibe55, DJ Gregfull, RAGAVA, NIKLĀVZ, YURI TCH, PA.

Tickets will be available in all Ticket Service offices and on the Internet at www.bilesuserviss.lv.

Ticket price for both days of the festival: 12 EUR (pre-sale), 15 EUR on festival day, 10 EUR (each - for groups with at least 10 people), 30 EUR (family ticket).

Ticket price for one day of the festival: 7 EUR (pre-sale), 10 EUR on festival day, 5 EUR (each – for groups with at least 10 people), 20 EUR (family ticket). For pensioners 5 EUR, free entry for children till age of 12. There will also be a tent city – 2 EUR for a tent place, but parking in the territory of the event – 5 EUR.
