Imants Ziedonis, a Latvian national poet, has a fairy tale, in which the characters play, play until they begin to play. In a similar way Metalurgu Community theatre is looking to present the play “Pūt, vējiņi!” by Rainis. It begins with the play simply being read, under guidance of the director played by Ainars Krūms. Slowly and steadily, with participation from our audience, we do our best to portray the tragic fates of our heroes. Living a rapid rhythm of life, the modern man has become accustomed to fast means of communication, immediate reactions to the world events; TV has taught us to absorb essential information through bright details and associations. When preparing this performance we tried to address a younger audience whom we wish to provide with a concentrated insight into reading dramaturgy and Rainis’s „Pūt , vējiņi!” (Blow, wind!). You will hear music by Imants Kalniņš composed for the movie “Pūt, vējiņi!”. 09.07. plkst. 19.00
