Within the “City festival of twin towns Valka and Valga” will be the opening ceremony of Valka city-clock. The ceremony will take place on 7th of June at 11:00 near the Valka city center. A few years ago the clock was donated from “Hipotēku” bank to Valka city. Earlier this year, the clock was struggling to show the correct time because the mechanism was broken. Valka District Council chief executive A.Cekuls called Valka District businesses for support of repairing the mechanism. To the invitation of supporting were responding many legal persons and also many private persons. Thanks for the donations! The authors and implementers of the new clocks idea are designer agency masters “Ziemeļu ekspresis” (“Northern Express”). The solemn opening event will be complemented by the men ensemble of Valka, musician Keith and Zane, and singer Valdis Rogainis. Welcome to the opening ceremony!
